The Driver
Zach Sober
Houston, Texas
Zach Sober grew up in a racing family in Houston, Texas. His father drag raced, and Zach was competing at Houston Motorsports Park before he had a driver’s license.
From there he built an unusually broad résumé — 20-plus SCCA national autocross events, 40 national rallycross rounds, and stage rally as far afield as Croatia — before turning to Time Attack with Global Time Attack and Super Lap Battle in 2019. In 2022 he reset long-standing records at Road Atlanta and Buttonwillow in the same Subaru he now runs up the mountain.
He crewed at Pikes Peak before ever taking it on himself. Since his 2024 rookie run he has moved up the Time Attack 1 order every single year.
- Fastest Subaru up Pikes Peak since 2014 — 10:28.728 (2026)
- Global Time Attack & Super Lap Battle competitor since 2019
- Reset long-standing lap records at Road Atlanta and Buttonwillow (2022)
- 20+ SCCA national autocross events · 40 national rallycross rounds
